Conservatives Unite for Lonegan
Hackensack, NJ -- Conservative leaders from North Jersey have announced their support for conservative Republican Steve Lonegan in his campaign for Congress in New Jersey's Fifth Congressional District.
Endorsing Lonegan today were Mrs. Ann Kievit, President of the Northwest New Jersey Taxpayers' Association; Rev. Greg Quinlan, President of the Center for Garden State Families, on behalf of New Jersey for a Conservative Majority; and Alexander Roubian, President of the New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS).
"Our organization covers Sussex and Warren Counties. I know of no person better suited to represent the taxpayers of Sussex and Warren Counties than Steve Lonegan. Steve has spent his life fighting for us and has never shirked when asked to step up and take on an entrenched liberal, even when the odds were against him. If you are like me, then you know how important it is to fight the fight. Like Abraham Lincoln, like Ronald Reagan, the words must be said, the message must be voiced in order to move the cause of freedom forward. God bless Steve Lonegan and his leadership in our cause: The cause of taxpayers and freedom," said Mrs. Ann Kievit, President of the Northwest New Jersey Taxpayers' Association
"Steve Lonegan will fight for religious freedom and to preserve the cultural values that have made America the shining city on a hill that continues to draw those from across the world seeking freedom and opportunity. In Congress, Steve Lonegan will stand up against human trafficking -- the modern day slavery that undermines human dignity, the rule of law, and American jobs. It is a threat especially to women and children, who are the majority of its victims. Steve is a strong supporter of the Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Prevention Act, as well as the 20-20 Pain Capable (pain sensitive) Act that will bring the United States into line with most of the nations on earth in recognizing that babies in the womb feel pain at 20 weeks. And, Steve has a proven record of fighting the extreme burden of taxes and fees on families which are robbing the future and ability of parents to provide for their children," said Rev. Greg Quinlan, President of the Center for Garden State Families, on behalf of New Jersey for a Conservative Majority.
"Steve Lonegan is a principled supporter of the Second Amendment since day one. He has always been there for us and has fought to uphold our rights. Steve is acutely aware of New Jersey’s draconian, racist, and sexist laws, that obstruct the rights of citizens from obtaining safe and legal means of self-protection -- especially women with restraining orders, the victims of stalking, and other vulnerable people. Nothing encompasses this issue more than the tragic story of Carol Bowne, the 5’ tall, 90lb South Jersey woman who was murdered by her 6’4” tall, 260lb violent ex-boyfriend while she waiting for a permission slip from the NJ government to protect herself. If Carol lived in any other state she would be alive today. As a member of Congress, Steve Lonegan will seek to bring New Jersey into line with the rest of the country in regards to its respect for the Second Amendment and he will stand for a woman’s right to self-defense," said Alexander Roubian, President of the New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS):
“I'm extremely thankful for the outpouring of conservative support our campaign is earning,” Lonegan said. “Conservatives across North Jersey are uniting behind our campaign because its the best opportunity to defeat liberal Josh Gottheimer whose policies pose serious threats to taxpayers, families, and Second Amendment supporters in the Fifth District."
Lonegan has already been endorsed by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and Bergen County State Senator Gerry Cardinale.
